Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Chris Akeroyd serves as Senior Vice President, Information Services and Chief Information Officer (CIO), and is responsible for leading all efforts of the Information Services groups in the organization. His oversight encompasses systems and technology, cyber security and health care technology management and support.
Chris joined the Children’s Health team in 2015. With more than 25 years of multi-industry IT leadership experience, Chris is responsible for ensuring optimal enterprise business strategy while maintaining oversight and awareness of current and emerging digital realities, opportunities and threats. At Children’s Health, Chris serves as a champion in the organization’s overall enterprise digital business enablement, bringing knowledge of current trends and best practices, while leading his team to deliver on Children’s Health future vision of leveraging information and technology in business model design, products and services development.
Prior to joining Children’s Health, Chris served as Director for Technology at UMC Health System in Lubbock, Vice President and CIO for a national mortgage company, and Director of Technology Operations for the North American and Philippine divisions of a global telecommunications organization. Chris received his Bachelors in Computer Science from Texas Tech University, and his Health IT certifications include CHCIO and CPHIMS.
