Robotic Surgery

Children’s Health offers the only dedicated pediatric robotic surgery program in North Texas. Every physician on our team is certified in the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System. They perform more than 70 laparoscopic and robotic surgeries for pediatric urology conditions each year.

We lead and participate in national and educational activities, including the North American Robotic Urology Symposium (NARUS).

Direct to OR for Testicular Torsion

For patients with testicular torsion, getting to the OR as fast as possible offers the best chance at protecting the testis. At Children’s Health, we’ve implemented a direct to OR protocol. Boys with symptoms, exam and imaging consistent with testicular torsion are transferred directly to surgery without having to go through the ED. This saves time and improves the likelihood of healthy testis.
