COVID-19 updates for volunteersUpdated May 26, 2020 at 10:00 am
When COVID‑19 first emerged, Children's Health℠ sprang into action, implementing policies and procedures, to keep our patients, their families, our team members and volunteers safe. Now, as our country starts to focus on a path to a new normal, Children's Health is also looking toward the future.
Resuming normal operations
While a specific date has not been set for when we can welcome volunteers back, we are working hard to ensure your safety in preparation for your return. We have implemented numerous changes and protocols to maintain the safest care environment possible.
When you resume volunteering at Children's Health, this is how we will keep you safe:
- Visitor restrictions: Only one designated caregiver may visit at a time or attend appointments with each patient.
- Screening: Every patient, caregiver, employee and volunteer will be screened upon arrival. You will be asked to answer a series of symptom and exposure related questions.
- Masks: After you pass the screening process, you will be given a clinical grade mask issued by Children's Health.
- Social distancing: You will see signage throughout our facilities to serve as a reminder to keep a safe distance of approximately 6 feet, including shared spaces such as in our waiting rooms and elevators.
Children's Health is extremely grateful for the invaluable contributions of our volunteers and we look forward to welcoming you back soon. Thank you for your patience as we continue our more than 100 year mission to make life better for children.
