Making impossible heart treatments – possible.

The Heart Center at Children's Health℠ credits its success to a close collaboration among world-renowned experts and pediatric cardiac specialists. Together, we’re working toward building one of the most data-informed, innovative, patient-centered and collaborative centers in the world.

We imagine a world in which no patient’s disease is too complex and every tool or technique is available close to home for Texans – and a place of healing worth traveling to for families across the United States and beyond.

As one of the busiest cardiac centers in the country, with more than 34,000 outpatient clinic encounters and 1,200 inpatient admissions in 2021 alone, our experience fuels our desire to improve every aspect of care – from transitioning families safely to home to the amount of radiation children are exposed to during diagnosis and treatment. We care for babies before they are born and shepherd them through to adulthood.

We’re redefining the boundaries of what was once thought impossible.

Advancing the frontiers of what is possible.

The Heart Center has a decades-long history of innovation. This includes programs to transition traditional open-heart operations into minimally invasive, zero-radiation procedures. It is typified by our new centers of excellence to care for our most vulnerable patients. And it is exemplified by being on the cutting edge of acute care so that children can transition to home sooner.

Testimonials and patient journeys

Listening truly is the best medicine.

At The Heart Center, it’s all about the patients. We believe that involving families and referring providers in decisions and plans leads to better care – and even better outcomes. That’s why we encourage feedback and open communication. Learning what we are doing well and where we can improve forms the foundation of how we grow.
