Jennifer J. Hoover, PsyD (she/her) is a Licensed Psychologist at Children’s Health℠. She has more than 15 years of experience caring for children and adolescents with mental health conditions, including trauma- and stressor-related disorders and mood and anxiety disorders.
Treating both neurodivergent and neurotypical children is my passion. I love coming to work every day and providing a space for children and adolescents to thrive.
She earned her bachelor’s degree at LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Hoover completed a Post Baccalaureate Psychology Program at Columbia University in New York, NY and earned her Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology at the American School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at The Children’s Assessment Center in Houston, TX and post-doctoral fellowship at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Denton, TX.

Dr. Hoover provides individual therapy using evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Child-Centered Play Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She additionally administers psychological evaluations for a variety of concerns. Dr. Hoover treats children of different abilities, identities and ethnicities, including immigrants, foster care and adoptive populations, LGBTQIA and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse.
In her free time, Dr. Hoover enjoys spending time with her family and learning about the world through food, art and travel. She also loves a good book.
