Biography

Andrea Wahlberg, Ph.D., ABPP, NCSP, is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist at Children’s Health℠, Clinical Associate Professor at UT Southwestern, Neuropsychology Team Lead and Co-Training Director of the Pediatric Neuropsychology training programs at Children’s Health. 

Dr. Wahlberg specializes in providing comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for children with a wide range of medical and developmental conditions that affect neurocognitive and psychosocial functioning. Her clinical interests include pediatric cancers and blood disorders, epilepsy syndromes, presurgical evaluations for epilepsy, cerebrovascular conditions, congenital brain malformations, moderate to severe brain injury, meningitis and encephalitis, transplant, and genetic conditions. She works closely with families and schools to support school reintegration following neurological injury or medical intervention and to help students access educational services that meet their unique learning and developmental needs.

Dr. Wahlberg earned her doctoral degree from Texas A&M University. She completed her predoctoral internship at the University of Minnesota Medical School, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at Children’s Health.

She is board certified in Clinical Neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology, credentialed with the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, and is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.

As Co-Training Director of the Pediatric Neuropsychology training programs, Dr. Wahlberg supervises doctoral students, predoctoral interns, and postdoctoral fellows while mentoring future pediatric neuropsychologists. Helping train the next generation of pediatric neuropsychologists is one of her greatest passions.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Wahlberg enjoys hiking, swimming, visiting national parks, cooking, and spending time with her family and beloved cat.
