Biography

Kambiz Ameli, M.D., is a pediatric ophthalmologist at Children's Health℠ and an Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in surgical neuro-ophthalmology, with expertise in blepharospasm, optic neuritis, ischemic optic neuropathy, double vision, eye pain, pseudotumor cerebri, thyroid eye disease, nystagmus, and giant cell arteritis.

Dr. Ameli earned his medical degree at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in Iran. He completed a residency in ophthalmology and received advanced training through an ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Farabi Eye Hospital. He also completed an oculoplastics research fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida; a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri; and a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.

When he’s not at work, Dr. Ameli enjoys hiking with his wife and cycling. They feel at home in Dallas. He also has an interest in photography.
