Chelsea Anne Stanford, MD

Biography

Chelsea Stanford, M.D., is a Sports Medicine Physician at Children’s Health℠ Andrews Institute for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. She specializes in the non-operative management of sports injuries and is dual board-certified in Pediatrics and Sports Medicine.

Dr. Stanford earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She completed her pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. After residency, she practiced as a general pediatrician outside Fort Benning, Georgia, while her husband served on active duty in the U.S. Army. She then completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine in Knoxville.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Stanford is a physician for USA Weightlifting and has traveled internationally to support athletes at competitions. She also serves as a volunteer physician for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Center. Throughout her career, she has cared for athletes at many levels, including serving as a team physician for professional hockey teams and high school football programs.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Stanford enjoys spending time with her family and attending sporting events. She is also an avid athlete who runs marathons and actively trains for HYROX competitions. She is excited to be back in Texas and looks forward to putting down new roots in the Allen community.
