Biography
Lindsey Duke, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant in Pre-Anesthesia Assessment at Children’s Health℠. Her clinical interests include pediatric cardiac anesthesia risk assessment, surgical risk assessment, planning and care coordination.
“Pediatric cardiac patients are some of our most vulnerable patients, particularly before, during and after surgery,” Duke says. “I am passionate about helping cardiac patients and their families navigate anesthesia with appropriate risk expectations, while making their journey as smooth as possible so they can focus on the most important thing — their child.”
Duke completed her Physician Assistant education at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth in 2010.
Duke has extensive experience in pre-anesthesia assessment and pediatric cardiac anesthesia coordination at Children’s Health. She has helped develop anesthesia consultation services that prepare medically complex patients for anesthesia and coordinate their surgical care. Her goal is to make the process as safe and seamless as possible for children and their families. She currently manages the Dallas Pre Anesthesia, Complex Perioperative, and Palliative Care Advanced Practice Provider Teams.
As a parent whose own children have received care at Children’s Health, Duke brings a personal perspective to supporting patients and families. She strives to help families feel welcomed, informed and involved in their child’s care.
Outside of medicine, Duke enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering at her children’s schools and serving with her local PTA and church children’s ministry.
“I am passionate about helping cardiac patients and their families navigate anesthesia with appropriate risk expectations, while making their journey as smooth as possible so they can focus on the most important thing — their child.”
