Biography

Jane Simms Hamner, M.D., is a Pediatrician at Children’s Health℠ and a Professor of Pediatrics UT Southwestern Medical Center. Her care philosophy is to help kids and families build healthy habits and to listen closely to families and help address any concerns. 

“I love my job because of the joy I get as I help new parents adjust to their parenting roles,” she said. “Then I get to watch these children grow and develop their own personalities.”

Dr. Hamner earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. She completed internship training at UNC Hospitals and Children’s Medical Center, followed by residencies at Children’s Medical Center/UT Southwestern and Emory University Hospital.

In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr. Hamner has devoted significant time to supporting children and families throughout the community. Her service has included leadership roles with Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer, where she served as past Board Vice-Chair and Medical Advisory Committee member, as well as work with organizations such as the Dallas Pregnancy Resource Center, the Auxiliary of Children’s Medical Center and Park Cities Presbyterian Church.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Hamner enjoys spending time with her husband, three sons and grandchildren, biking around White Rock Lake, and playing bridge and Mah-jongg.
