Summary

Pediatric urogenital sinus is a rare birth defect in girls where the urethra and vagina connect into a single channel.

Symptoms

  • Urine from the bladder filling into the vagina 

Test and Diagnosis

  • Physical exam
  • Genitogram
  • Endoscopy

Treatment

Surgery is required to separate the vagina and the urethra. This includes the following:

  • Clitoroplasty
  • Labiaplasty
  • Vaginoplasty
