Pediatric Congenital Concealed or Buried Penis
A concealed or buried penis is hidden beneath the scrotum or excess skin in a boy’s pubic area.
A concealed – or buried – penis means that it is hidden beneath the scrotum or excess skin or fat in a boy’s pubic area. In most cases, a concealed or buried penis is of normal size and function. Therefore, this condition is usually a cosmetic issue, not a medical issue.
This condition is congenital, meaning that it is present at birth, and occurred during development in the womb. The cause of a concealed or buried penis is unknown.
Symptoms of this condition include:
- Shaft and head of the penis not visible at all (in severe cases)
- Only part of the penis is visible (in mild cases)
