Why Children's Health℠?
The Pediatric Thyroid Center is a multidisciplinary collaboration between the departments of Endocrinology, Otolaryngology (ENT), Surgery, Radiology and Pathology designed to facilitate comprehensive and efficient care for the treatment of disorders of the thyroid gland.
The goal of the Thyroid Center care team is to consolidate patient care with strictly pediatric providers so as to optimize patient outcomes and maximize the efficiency of care.
Specifically, the Thyroid Center provides access to a collaborative team of experts who will thoroughly evaluate, accurately diagnose and appropriately treat nodules and other masses of the thyroid gland. The Thyroid Center's team includes experienced thyroid surgeons, radiologists and ultrasonographers working closely with an endocrinologist to treat all types of benign and malignant thyroid disease. The Thyroid Center also helps to facilitate the evaluation and management of medical thyroid disorders, such as Graves disease, with the Endocrinology department.
Meet Your Team
Children who receive a diagnosis of an endocrine tumor will see a full team of specialists at Children's Health throughout their treatment. A nurse with advanced training serves as the team coordinator and personal resource for the parents.
