GENECIS Program Mission Statement

Making life better for children and adolescents with gender dysphoria by providing:

  • Access to gender affirming medical care (including puberty suppression and hormone replacement therapy)
  • Support for psychological health and social-emotional needs
  • Education and training for providers, educators, and community partners
  • Research to improve health and development

Safe Space

The GENECIS program strives to create an open and affirming environment where patients of all

Social Work Support

  • Consultation with teachers, counselors, and other school staff
  • Parent and family support services for topics including education, advocacy, self-care, and adjustment
  • Resources for transition to adult care
  • Referrals to community resources, including legal, educational and peer support

Mental Health Services

  • Yearly assessment visits (all patients)
  • Consultation visits to provide short-term, solutions-focused therapeutic support
  • Outpatient counseling
  • Psychiatric assessment and medication management
  • Referrals to higher levels of care

Education and Training Mission

  • Training future generations to provide the highest quality care to children and adolescents with gender dysphoria
  • Providing education and outreach to the greater Dallas Fort Worth region
