Buchanan, George

George Buchanan, M.D., is a physician at Children’s Health℠ who specializes in oncology and hematology. Dr. Buchanan received his medical degree from the University of Chicago in 1970, followed by pediatric residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago and hematology-oncology fellowship at Children’s Hospital Boston, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Buchanan has served as president of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology (ASPHO) and twice on the Executive Committee of the American Society of Hematology (ASH).

Journeycake, Janna

Janna Journeycake, M.D., earned her medical degree in 1996 from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where she also completed her internship and residency in pediatrics. She then completed a fellowship in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology at Children's Health℠. Dr. Journeycake has a special clinical interest in thrombosis.

Rogers, Zora

Zora Rogers, M.D., is a physician with the Cancer and Blood Disorder Program at Children’s Health℠. She earned her medical degree at the University of California, San Diego. She then went on to complete a pediatrics internship and residence at University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles, as well as a fellowship in hematology at USC and one in pediatric hematology/oncology at Children's Health. Dr. Rogers' clinical interests include bone marrow failure, hematology, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), iron overload, sickle cell disease and transfusion therapy.

Zia, Ayesha

Ayesha Zia, M.D., is a pediatric hematologist at the Children’s Health℠ Hemostasis Thrombosis Center who specializes in pediatric patients with bleeding and clotting disorders. Dr. Zia also leads the multidisciplinary Young Women’s Blood Disorders Clinic that is focused on improving the care of adolescent girls with menorrhagia and bleeding disorders, as well as girls with thrombophilia.
