If your child is traveling outside the United States, he or she may need certain vaccines to help prevent catching diseases that are more common in other countries.
One new way we are extending our mission to make life better for children into the community is offering travel medicine services at our Children’s Health℠ Pediatric Group Medical District and West Plano locations three days a month.
For international travelers, we will offer travel medicine services two nights a month at our Medical District location and one night at our West Plano office. This means that people up to age 21 can come in and get required immunizations before visiting other countries for reasons like mission trips, sports tournaments or just personal travel.
There are preventable diseases that are common to other parts of the world outside of the U.S. that affect millions of people each year.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended children receive certain vaccinations, including one for malaria, before traveling.
The specially trained pediatricians at Children’s health are here to help you and your child determine which vaccines and other preventive measures are needed for your upcoming trip.
