The Musculoskeletal Infection Program at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas is the first and only nationally recognized program in the nation to be certified by the Joint Commission for Disease Specific Care. The program offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment of children who have infections of bone, joint, muscle, or soft tissues of the arms, legs, spine, or pelvis.

Dr. Lawson Copley is a pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon and the medical director of the Musculoskeletal Infection program.  The program combines the expertise of multi-disciplinary specialists who work together in a team approach to care.

Under the leadership of Dr. Copley, the MSI team is actively involved with basic science and translational research in collaboration with investigators at UT Southwestern, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital and the Baylor Institute for Immunology Research. The program also collaborates with pediatric orthopedic centers nationwide on various retrospective, prospective and registry based clinical research initiatives.
