Impact of Responsible Pet Fish Care on Glycemic Control in Early Adolescents with T1DM
Study ID: STU-2018-0044
Summary
non-randomized pilot study on the evaluation of the Hba1c, BGM frequency, diabetes self-efficacy and parental involvement in diabetes before and after incorporating structured care of a pet fish into a diabetes self-care routine. We will compare Hgba1c and responses to behavioral surveys at the following time points: baseline and 3 months after initiation of intervention.
assess the effects of incorporating the structured care of a pet fish into a diabetes self-care routine on glycated hemoglobin (Hgba1c, a biomarker that provides an estimate of glucose values over the previous 3 months) in early adolescents.
