Language and Interpreter Services
For families who do not speak English, talking to nurses and doctors about their child’s illness can be challenging – so we offer interpretation services free of charge. Please inform your caregiver if these services are needed.
All Children’s Health℠ staff members have access to interpreting services for talking with their LEP (Limited-English Proficiency) patients, no matter the language. Staff Spanish interpreters are available 24 hours a day/7 days a week, every day of the year. For all languages, other options available are over-the-phone interpreting services through two contracted vendors for over 100 spoken languages as well as video remote interpreting via an iPad for all spoken languages and ASL (American Sign Language).
Your child’s care team is always available to answer questions and provide more information, so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
