The city of Dallas is considered to be one of the most livable cities in America. It boasts a flourishing economy, cultural arts, abundant housing options and endless entertainment and activities. Dallas has more shopping centers per capita than any other major U.S. city, and four times more restaurants per person than New York City.
Since 1996, Children’s Health has published Beyond ABC, an in-depth look at the quality of life for children in North Texas as measured by four powerful indicators: pediatric health care, education, economic security and safety. Beginning in 2015, we updated our format to feature in a single report six counties in the Children’s Health service area — Dallas, Collin, Cooke, Denton, Fannin and Grayson.
The Children's School Nurse Advisory Committee works with local school health providers to facilitate optimal health for children in the learning environment. The Advisory Committee was formed in 2008 with the Region 10 Educational Services Center (ESC) and local school districts.
