Child Advocacy

Children’s Medical Center has a long history of providing healthcare to children, but our work doesn’t end there. In addition to providing millions of dollars annually in uncompensated medical care to our patients, Children’s also works with community and state partners to serve as advocates for all children, promoting access to medical services and working to improve their overall health, education, safety and security.

We also are involved in legal advocacy: Children's Medical Center promotes children's issues on many legislative fronts, including sponsoring bi-annual advocacy trips to the state Capitol.

And in 2013, Children’s Medical Center conducted a health assessment for the communities it serves. It includes comprehensive data, including demographic, socioeconomic, child and adolescent health indicators and health care resources.

Affordable Health Insurance for Children

Children’s is a sponsor of the Dallas CHIP coalition, which seeks to help families with uninsured children apply for affordable health insurance.

Children’s collaborates with the Immunize Kids! Dallas Area Partnership to improve immunization rates of area children.

AIDS Related Medical Services

Children’s Medical Center provides access to AIDS-Related Medical Services (ARMS), injury prevention information, the Referral and Evaluation of At-Risk Children (REACH) clinic, foster care and a clinic for low birth weight children.
