Edaire Cheng, M.D., is a board certified pediatric gastroenterologist (GI) at who specializes in eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). She is also an assistant professor of pediatrics and internal medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Cheng received her medical degree from UT Southwestern, where she also completed her internship and residency in pediatric medicine and her fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology (GI), hepatology and nutrition.

Dr. Cheng’s clinical interests include eosinophilic esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease.

Her research interests include understanding mechanisms of eosinophilic infiltration, allergy-mediated inflammation and tissue remodeling of the esophagus.

She is a member of several associations including the American Academy of Pediatrics, North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, American Gastroenterological Association and American Gastroenterological Association Women’s Committee.
