Maintenance of Certification

Maintenance of Certification Portfolio Program

Share:

The Children’s Health℠ Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Portfolio Program is an institutional resource to help Children’s Health-affiliated physicians maintain certification in their specialties.

Through lifelong learning and Quality Improvement (QI) projects, physicians can improve patient outcomes across Children’s Health.

As a portfolio sponsor, Children’s Health helps physicians receive recognition for QI projects in the form of MOC Part 4 credit. We submit physicians who participate in MOC projects within our program to the appropriate American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) member board.

Throughout the process, we strive to help physicians succeed by offering guidance regarding:

  • QI methodologies
  • Data collection strategies
  • Participant qualifications for MOC Part 4 credit
  • Documentation requirements for MOC Part 4 credit

As part of our commitment to deliver the highest quality care possible to our patients and families, Children’s Health MOC Portfolio Program maintains a listing of current QI projects for physicians to receive board certification.

These activities acknowledge a physician's dedication to lifelong learning and to exemplary clinical outcomes for patients in a rapidly changing and dynamic health care environment.

We are a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties' (ABMS) Multi-Specialty MOC Portfolio Approval Program (Portfolio Program). This allows us to work one-on-one with many of ABMS member boards to grant MOC Part 4 credit to physicians involved in QI projects.

Please contact the MOC project manager at 214-456-5630  or mocprogram@childrens.com for additional information.
