Life in Dallas
Dallas is a leader in business and innovation, as well as a top visitor destination in Texas. The city continues to build on its strengths – friendly people, entrepreneurial spirit, flair for style and innovation, mild climate, accessibility and outstanding quality of life.
The ninth-largest city in the nation with 1.2 million residents is home to 18 Fortune 500 companies and has the third busiest airport in the world. Combined with Fort Worth, Dallas forms the fourth largest metropolitan area, offering diversity in its population and opportunities.
Dallas is on the international map with bold new architectural and civic projects, and a $15 billion city-wide revitalization. The city boasts the largest urban arts district in the United States, where residents enjoy the most sought-after homegrown restaurants, bars, shops and galleries, according to the New York Times.
The city is serious about sports and recreation – Dallas is the only city in the southwest that is home to five professional sports teams, including the Mavericks, Rangers and Cowboys. We take our personal fitness seriously, too, with a 3.5-mil run/bike trail in the heart of downtown, and more than 250 golf courses.
Within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the DART public transportation system has a stop at the hospital for easy access for our residents and faculty.
