The Neonatal/Pediatric transport program serves as the primary inter-facility transport service for infants, children and high risk obstetrical patients throughout Texas, nationally and internationally. Our specialty transport services will transfer these patients by air or ground through local, national or international arrangements.
The Children’s Health℠ Transport team was the first pediatric team to receive the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems’ accreditation in all three modes of transport – ground, helicopter and fixed wing. Transport Team nurses are required to have a variety of certifications, including BLS, ACLS, ACTN, PALS, NRP and ACLS.
They also are required to be certified paramedics or EMT’s and all team members have either emergency room, neonatal and pediatric transport, or neonatal/pediatric intensive care experience.
The Transport Team’s main location at Love Field in Dallas includes a fixed-wing aircraft, a helicopter and ground transportation capabilities. Children’s Medical Center has a dedicated Transport Team staff on site in order to respond more rapidly to the northern region.
Fixed Wing Services
Fixed wing services are provided by Seven Bar Flying Services. Rotor wing services are provided by PHI.
