The Center for Clinical Simulation at Children’s Health℠ is committed to communication, collaboration and improving outcomes in a crisis situation – which is the time when all these qualities mean the most. Our goal is to help health care providers develop the skills and teamwork behaviors they need for any situation, and we know that these skills are best learned under realistic conditions. Our mission is to improve children's lives through the protocols that professionals learn with health care simulation. It’s the supreme preparation for any scenario.

Clinical Simulation

Using health care simulation technology, trainees may practice skills and receive instant feedback focused on patient safety. Facilitators observe, assess and evaluate the processes and outcomes of both individual and team simulation. These outcomes are evaluated through the Advocacy-Inquiry method of debriefing.

Simulation Scenarios

Using health care simulation technology, trainees perfect skills and receive instant feedback, all capabilities that serve patient safety. Facilitators observe, assess and evaluate the processes and outcomes of both individual and team simulation.

Equipment and Facilities

Since it opened in 2006, the Center for Clinical Simulation at Children's Health℠ has grown exponentially - from one single SimBaby unit in a neonatal warmer, to a 3,000-square-foot facility where clinicians use high-fidelity manikins and virtual gaming to simulate complex patient scenarios. This expansion illustrates our belief that preparation is one of the most important tools a medical professional’s wields in a crisis.

Training Programs

Using health care simulation technology, trainees can not only practice skills, but receive instant feedback that is focused on patient safety. This is powerful in itself, but facilitators also observe, assess and evaluate the processes and outcomes of both individual and team simulation. There is no better way to enhance the skills that our professionals, and our patients, rely on and  benefit from.
