DALLAS (Sept. 6, 2018) – Children’s Health℠, the eighth largest pediatric health care provider in the nation and leading pediatric health care system in North Texas, announces it is joining forces with PM Pediatrics, the nation’s largest provider of specialized pediatric urgent care, to open the first Children’s Health PM Urgent Care practice, on Monday, Sept. 10.
Located in The Colony near FM 423 and Sam Rayburn Tollway at 5151 Texas Hwy 121, the all-new urgent care practice will be the first Texas location for PM Pediatrics, which currently has more than 30 pediatric urgent care locations throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Children’s Health PM Urgent Care has plans to open additional urgent care practices in North Texas in 2018 and 2019.
“The announcement of a new urgent care practice in the region dedicated to serving children reinforces our commitment to the community and to our mission of making life better for all children,” said David Berry, president of system clinical and scientific operations at Children’s Health. “With the opening of this new location, we are bringing to patients and families our long history of dedicated service and preeminent care in the community combined with PM Pediatrics’ demonstrated expertise in urgent care for children provided by board-certified pediatric physicians.”
Children’s Health PM Urgent Care will be open 365 days a year from noon to midnight to treat non-life-threatening common conditions in newborn through college-age patients. Dedicated solely to the treatment of children and young adults, the practice will be staffed by board-certified pediatric emergency physicians and pediatricians, and will feature an onsite digital X-ray, EKG and laboratory. In addition to treating a variety of illnesses and injuries, including fever, infections, wounds requiring stitches, fracture management and respiratory care, the practice also treats dehydration, which is particularly important during cold and flu season and when treating heat-related illnesses.
“We are proud to be working together with Children’s Health to introduce our award-winning pediatric urgent care to North Texas,” said Steve Katz, co-founder of PM Pediatrics. “As the leading pediatric health system in the region, Children’s Health is the ideal partner that shares in our mission to deliver the highest quality of care to children and their families.”
