InformationWeek Elite 100

Children’s Health was once again named to the InformationWeek Elite 100 in 2016. We are the only health system in Texas to make the list. This prestigious award recognizes the nation’s most innovative users of information technology.

U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals

Children’s Medical Center Dallas received US News & World Report’s Most Connected Hospitals 2015-2016, recognizing hospitals whose excellence in patient safety, patient engagement and clinical connectedness improved patient care.

Joint Commission Disease-Specific Certification

Children’s Health is the first hospital in the U.S. to have seven disease-specific management programs certified by The Joint Commission, the nation's predominant accrediting and certifying body for healthcare.  In achieving Joint Commission certification, we have demonstrated our commitment to providing the highest level of care for our patients.

In 2015, Children’s Medical Center Plano was recognized as Top Children’s Hospital. For the second consecutive year, The Leapfrog Group has named Children's Medical Center Plano to its list of Top Children’s Hospitals. The Plano campus was one of 98 hospitals and only 12 children’s hospitals in the country to be selected in the survey. The staff was recognized for their commitment to provide the safest, highest quality health care to the families we serve.

Children’s Health has been named for seven consecutive years as one of the 150 Best Places to Work in Healthcare by Becker’s Hospital Reviews. Children’s Health was chosen based on our robust benefits, wellness initiatives, professional development opportunities and work environment that promotes employee collaboration and satisfaction. 2013 Get With the Guidelines-Resuscitation Bronze Award

The Get With The Guidelines-Resuscitation Bronze Award is awarded to hospitals that have demonstrated a commitment to treating patients with cardiac arrest, using standards of care as outlined by the American Heart Association.

Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) Neonatal and Pediatric Transport Award of Excellence

The AAMS Neonatal and Pediatric Transport Award of Excellence recognizes individuals or teams that have made a significant contribution to the overall enhancement, development, leadership and promotion of neonatal/pediatric patient care, education, research, or safety in the medical transport setting.

National Cancer Institute’s NCI-Designated Cancer Center

Physicians at the Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Health are engaged in a wide range of clinical research efforts spanning the cancer and blood disease programs. Clinical research efforts are supported by robust infrastructure provided by the Clinical Research Office (CRO) within the Gill Center and the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at UT Southwestern, the only NCI- designated cancer center in North Texas. The NCI-Designated Cancer Centers program recognizes centers around the country that meet rigorous criteria for world-class, state-of-the-art programs in multidisciplinary cancer research that will lead to better approaches for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Recognition

The original six Pediatric Group locations received Level 3 NCQA PCMH Recognition for using evidence-based, patient-centered processes that focus on highly coordinated care and long‐term, participative relationships. Children’s was one of the first organizations in the nation to be recognized as a Level 3 under the NCQA’s newest guidelines.

Most Wired

In 2016, Children’s Health was named to Hospitals & Health Networks Most Wired for the tenth time in the last 12 years. Most Wired recognizes information technology adoption in U.S. hospitals and health systems. For the second year in a row, Children’s Health achieved Most Wired “advanced” status. Children’s Health is the only health system in Texas named to the list.

HIMSS Davies Enterprise Award of Excellence

In 2013, Children’s Medical Center Dallas was the recipient of the HIMSS Davies Enterprise Award of Excellence for deployment and use of electronic medical records (EMR) across the organization. The Nicholas E. Davies Award recognizes excellence in the use of health information technology to successfully improve the delivery of health care and patient safety.

HIMSS Stage 7

Since 2005, HIMSS Analytics has tracked the adoption of EMR applications within hospitals and health systems across the U.S. Hospitals work to complete each stage of adoption, with the ultimate goal of reaching a Stage 7. Children’s Medical Center Dallas was the first hospital in Texas to reach Stage 7. As a Stage 7 health care organization, Children’s Medical Center Dallas is recognized for delivering patient data in a way that ultimately improves process performance, quality of care and patient safety.

InformationWeek 500

Each year, InformationWeek 500 recognizes the most innovative users of business technology in the U.S., Children’s Medical Center Dallas has been repeatedly named to the Information Week 500 list.

SECURETexas Certification

Children’s Health is SECURETexas certified, which means that our organization meets both state and federal privacy and security regulations. SECURETexas certification is granted by the Texas Health Services Authority (THSA) and the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST), and in 2014, Children’s Health was the first hospital in Texas to receive SECURETexas certification. As a SECURETexas organization, we are recognized as a health care leader demonstrating our commitment to protect the privacy of our patients’ health care information.

ANCC Magnet Recognition

Children’s Medical Center Dallas and Children’s Medical Center Plano are designated as a Magnet organization by the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®. Recognizing quality patient care, nursing excellence, and innovations in professional nursing practices, designation as a Magnet organization is the highest national recognition granted to a hospital or medical center for excellence in nursing. Children’s Medical Center Dallas and Children’s Medical Center Plano have proudly maintained Magnet designation since 2009.

WorldatWork Alliance for Work-Life Progress

The WorldatWork Alliance for Work-Life Progress recognized Children’s Health for demonstrating leadership in workplace strategies and practices to help employees achieve success in work-life effectiveness.

50 of the Greenest Hospitals in America

Becker’s Hospital Reviews recognized Children’s Health as one of the top 50 greenest hospitals in America. As of July 2016, one fourth of electricity use is backed by renewable energy credits, equivalent to removing more than 16 million pounds per year of carbon dioxide from nature.

Becker’s Hospital Review recognized the Children’s Health Virtual Health and Innovation program as one of the 50 hospitals with innovation programs due to the goal to invest and partner with companies, technologies and organizations on care delivery.

Texas Star in Language Access

In 2016, the Texas Association of Healthcare Interpreters & Translators (TAHIT) recognized Children’s Health for the Texas Star in Language Access Award as an organization that demonstrates a tremendous difference through translation and interpreter efforts.

Best Places to Work

In 2016, Dallas Business Journal named Children’s Health in their annual “Best Places to Work” list in the extra-large category.

Healthiest Employers in North Texas

In, 2016 Children’s Health was named as one of Dallas Business Journal’s Healthiest Employers in North Texas.

Pathway to Excellence Program

Since 2011, Our Children’s House has received the Pathway to Excellence Program® designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

National Top Workplaces 2012

In 2012, Children’s Health was recognized as one of the National Top Workplaces. To determine the National Top Workplaces, 30 major regional newspapers, including the Dallas Morning News, the Boston Globe and the Chicago Tribune, select best workplaces in their regions. Those employer organizations are then evaluated for the National Top Workplaces list.
