Biography
Yvonne Y. Chan, M.D., is a pediatric urologist at Children’s Health℠ and Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern who specializes in complex urologic reconstruction surgeries and robotic surgery. Her clinical interests include congenital urologic abnormalities, neurogenic bladder, robotic surgery, complex urologic reconstructions and hypospadias.
She earned her medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Chan completed her residency in urologic surgery at UC Davis Medical Center and then performed her fellowship training in pediatric urology at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University/Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Dr. Chan has a special interest in quality improvement and is constantly working to improve patient care and make it even safer.
“When children and their families understand their condition, they feel comfortable asking questions. I help guide them through the medical and emotional complexities of what can be a challenging time in their lives,” Dr. Chan says. “It’s a privilege to watch a child grow up and achieve their dreams after I’ve been involved in their care early on.”
Outside of work, Dr. Chan lives in Dallas and enjoys exploring new restaurants, putting together large jigsaw puzzles and traveling.
