Rachel Lombardo, M.D., FAAP, is a pediatric medical geneticist at Children’s Health℠. She cares for children with genetic conditions and, through her research, strives to improve patient outcomes and the medical community’s understanding of these conditions.
Dr. Lombardo earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed her combined pediatric and medical genetics residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center where she was chief resident.
Dr. Lombardo researches a wide range of genetic conditions that affect children, including skeletal dysplasias, congenital diarrheal disorders, and genetic cardiovascular syndromes. Her research also focuses on the relationship genetic testing can play in the diagnosis and management of cerebral palsy.
Dr. Lombardo’s research has been published in several journals, and she has presented posters and lectures at physician conferences across the country. She has also been a reviewer for the American Journal of Medical Genetics and the Journal of Medical Genetics.
