Jennifer Tracy, MSN, RN, PPCNP-BC, is a certified nurse practitioner who specializes in pediatric urology. She cares for children with voiding dysfunction conditions such as daytime wetting and bedwetting. She also specializes in a number of conditions, including recurrent urinary tract infections, phimosis, undescended testicles, hydronephrosis and vesicoureteral reflux.
“I always knew I wanted to work with kids and have had a passion for helping children who come to the urology clinic,” she says. “It’s very rewarding to help parents and kids understand the underlying causes of voiding dysfunction, work to incorporate behavioral interventions so they can gain control of their condition and help the child remain dry and empty the bladder effectively.”
Jennifer takes the time to listen to both patients and parents. She understands the stress many parents face when it comes to their child bedwetting. She uses that knowledge to offer compassionate care to those she serves.
“Everyone who works in urology from the receptionists who greet the patients and family members to the nurses and doctors who provide treatment are good at making kids feel comfortable,” says Jennifer. “Everyone is specially trained to work with kids and helps to make them feel welcome and confident.”
Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Baylor University and her Master of Science and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree at the University of Texas at Tyler. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Jennifer has assisted in a number of research projects assessing pediatric urology treatments. She also helped develop the Pediatric Comprehensive Stone Center and completes thorough work-ups on each patient.
