Biography

Biography

Diane Shyung, D.O., is a pediatrician at Children’s Health℠ Pediatric Group in West Plano.

Dr. Shyung says she has always enjoyed working with children. Inspired by her own pediatrician, she knew early on that she wanted to become a doctor, too. She earned her medical degree at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in pediatrics at Akron Children’s Hospital in Ohio. She decided to join Children’s Health because she believed in the hospital’s mission and her husband was already living in Dallas.

She loves being a pediatrician because it allows her to provide comfort and reassurance not only to the children she treats, but to their families as well. “I love working with the families and building relationships with them,” she says. “I especially like connecting with the parents and advocating for children who are too young to speak for themselves.”

Dr. Shyung enjoys having fun with her young patients. “I laugh every day,” she says. “Kids are fun to be around, and they make every day a good day.”

She also has participated in three medical mission trips – to Angola, El Salvador and Honduras – and hopes to do more.

When she’s not at work, Dr. Shyung enjoys baking, being outdoors and doing yoga, and she and her husband are self-described “foodies” who love traveling and trying new restaurants. They are both members of Watermark Community Church in Dallas and serve in various ministries in the city.
