Biography
Brittany Gresl, Ph.D., is a licensed pediatric psychologist at Children’s Health in the gastroenterology department. Since 2015, she has worked with children who have chronic gastrointestinal conditions like Crohn’s disease or irritable bowel syndrome. Dr. Gresl is also an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern.
Dr. Gresl received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned her master’s degree in community counseling with a concentration in child and adolescent counseling at Marquette University. She went on to complete her doctorate in counseling psychology from Marquette University. During this time, she received extensive training in pediatric psychology at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, where she worked with children in the internationally recognized Feeding and Swallowing Center and the MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. She completed an APA-accredited internship in pediatric psychology at Children’s Hospital of Orange County and a pediatric psychology fellowship in critical care medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Her professional affiliations include the American Psychological Association Division 54 Society for Pediatric Psychology, Pediatric Gastroenterology Special Interest Group, and Complementary and Integrative Medicine Special Interest Group, for which she is co-chair. Dr. Gresl has presented at local, regional and national conferences on topics like in-home treatment and counseling, barriers to treatment for children in poverty and psychological care for children in the hospital with gastrointestinal disorders. In her spare time, Dr. Gresl enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
