Photography Program

Children's Photography Volunteer Program is designed specifically for professional photographer's who would like to donate their special skill of photography. In this volunteer role, you will work alongside our staff to capture precious moments for some of our chronically ill or long-term patients and families.

We ask that all applicants submit a portfolio of their work, be a minimum of 21 years of age, and willing to commit to serving for a minimum of one year as a volunteer photographer. The program is offered once a month with rotating photographers. In addition to donating your time and talent, we ask that all photographers provide the patient families with one 8x10 print and a free CD of their portraits with the release of all rights. Due to the hospital environment, photographers may not be able to use equipment that they normally would in their daily work, such as lights and flashes.

After an application (PDF) has been completed, you will be required to complete the following steps:

  1. Completed a confidentiality form and consent for background check.
  2. Complete TB testing.
  3. Complete a health form and have it signed by a nurse in Children's Occupational Health Services department.
  4. At Children's, complete an orientation training module.
