Pediatric Surgery Overview
The Division of Pediatric Surgery at Children’s Medical Center Dallas/University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center provides comprehensive surgical care to newborns, infants, children and adolescents. We are one of the largest providers of pediatric general surgery in the North Texas region. Our team of pediatric surgeons provides diagnosis, consultation, treatment and follow-up care 24 hours a day. We perform over 4,300 surgeries annually at four convenient locations.
We treat a wide range of congenital (present at birth) and acquired conditions. Our pediatric surgical programs include:
- Minimally Invasive Surgery
- Trauma and Critical Care
- Fetal and EXIT (ex utero intrapartum treatment)
- Surgical Endocrine
Our pediatric surgeons have completed a full residency in general surgery and pediatric surgery. This means each pediatric surgeon has the experience of performing thousands of surgeries on children. Each member of our team is board certified in Pediatric Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
In addition to clinical care, our pediatric surgeons participate in surgical research and education. We are committed to finding better ways to treat our patients before, during, and after surgery. We strive to bring the newest discoveries in pediatric surgery to the bedside and make our patient’s experience and quality of care better.
The Division of Pediatric Surgery offers a pediatric surgical fellowship program. The program is accredited by the American College of Graduate Medical Education and is administered by the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
