Postdoctoral Fellowship Advertisement - 2012-2013 Academic Year
The Center for Pediatric Psychiatry at Children’s Medical Center Dallas invites applicants for multiple one-year Postdoctoral Fellowships in Clinical Child Psychology beginning September 2012.
Five positions will be available, each within one area of specialization:
Outpatient Clinical Child Psychology/Autism Spectrum Disorders (2 positions): Diagnosis and treatment of children in the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic and multi-disciplinary Autism Clinic. Population served includes children with autism spectrum disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and learning disabilities, among others. Current emphasis is on autism spectrum and mood disorders.
Eating Disorders (1 position): Individual and group therapy, as well as assessment, with patients with eating disorders and comorbid psychiatric disorders in the Center for Pediatric Eating Disorders, which provides a multidisciplinary continuum of care.
Pediatric Health Psychology (2 positions): These positions involve training with medically ill children in the general hospital setting (consult/liaison) with opportunities in specialty clinics including cystic fibrosis, craniofacial and cleft palate, hematology-oncology, solid organ transplant, endocrinology, international adoption medicine, feeding disorders, pain management, and infant mental health, with the potential for concentrated work in abuse and neglect.
Requirements:
- Each fellow will have the opportunity to be involved in didactics, research and teaching activities.
- Applicants must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. and have completed an internship from an APA-accredited program, with the degree conferred by August 2012.
- Applicants must indicate one area of interest from the four described above. Applications without such indication will be returned.
