Postdoctoral Fellowship Advertisement

The Center for Pediatric Psychiatry at Children’s Medical Center Dallas invites applicants for multiple one-year Postdoctoral Fellowships in Clinical Child Psychology beginning August 25, 2014. 

Six positions will be available, each within one area of specialization: 

Outpatient Psychology Concentration (1 position)

  • Outpatient psychological evaluations of children with a variety of presenting problems (developmental problems, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, behavioral problems, etc.); specialized training in therapeutic and early childhood multidisciplinary assessment
  • Intervention opportunities including individual, family, and group therapy; consultation and collaboration with a variety of other disciplines within the hospital

Autism Spectrum Disorders Concentration (1 position)

  • Multidisciplinary assessment and intervention for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Eating Disorders Concentration (1 position)

  • Evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, & ED-NOS 
  • Individual, family, and group therapy; psychological assessment; behavioral programs & parent education within a multidisciplinary treatment approach
  • Continuum of care (Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient)

Pediatric Health Psychology Concentration (3 positions)

  • Assessment, intervention, and consultation/liaison services for children and adolescents with chronic or acute medical conditions and their families
  • All fellows will engage in consultation/liaison services throughout the training year
  • Opportunities for elective rotations include Child Maltreatment, Craniofacial/Plastics, Cystic Fibrosis, Endocrinology, Foster Care, Hematology/Oncology, Infant Mental Health, Pain Management, Sickle Cell, Solid Organ Transplant, Gastroenterology

Requirements:

  • Applicants must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited doctoral program and must have completed an internship from an APA-accredited program, with degree conferred by August 25, 2014. 
  • Applicants must indicate whether they are applying for the Eating Disorders Concentration, Pediatric Health Psychology Concentration, Outpatient Psychology Concentration, or Autism Spectrum Disorders Concentration.  Applicants may only apply to one position.  Applications without such indication will be returned
