Why Children's Medical Center?
Children’s Medical Center Dallas has a team of highly specialized, trained personnel who work specifically in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the hospital, who are equipped to handle the tiniest of babies. We are experts in taking care of newborn babies who may have difficulty at birth to include those born prematurely, those who experienced a difficult delivery, or those with birth defects. Fortunately for these babies, special care is available. We also have immediate or continuing care areas for babies who are not as sick but need specialized nursing care. If your child is transferred or referred to Children’s, you will be connected to one of our neonatologists to organize the transfer of the patient. Highly skilled registered nurses and respiratory therapists, specifically trained in neonatal resuscitation, and the transport team will transfer the neonate to the Children’s NICU.
