CCBD: Sickle Cell Population

The pediatric sickle program at Children's and UT Southwestern is one of the nation's largest, with more than 700 active patients under the age of 18. Dallas has a large African-American population, and the population within the large rural area of East Texas, which our program serves, also includes many African Americans.
