Why Children's Medical Center?

• All anesthesiologists on the medical staff at Children's are specially trained in pediatric anesthesiology, so every child's surgery is done with a pediatric anesthesiologist.
• The medical staff includes anesthesiologists who specialize in cardiac and neurological procedures.
• Levels of anesthesia are administered dependent upon each child's age, size and condition.
• To help alleviate a child's fear of surgery, child life specialists conduct medical child play therapy with patients before surgery and provide parents and patients an opportunity to ask questions about the surgery.
• Our employees and the medical staff use techniques with each child based on the child's developmental stage.
• We take special care to reunite all patients with their families immediately after waking up from surgery.
