Sagittal Extended Strip: William

Sagittal Craniosynostosis Top-250William presented at 3 months of age, referred for evaluation of his head shape. His presenting photos on the left show a narrowing of the middle and back portions of the skull. His head was vertically short in the back and coned down to a narrow point in the back of the skull. He was diagnosed with sagittal suture craniosynostosis. He was treated with an extended strip craniectomy and postoperative helmet therapy at age 3 months. His photos at the end of helmet therapy at right show a significant improvement in the rounded shape and height to the back of the head. The back of the skull is now wider than the temple area, which is normal.
