Sagittal Extended Strip: Colton

Sagittal Craniosynostosis Top-250Colton presented to the craniofacial team at age 12 weeks, referred by his pediatrician for evaluation of his head shape. His photos from that visit on the left show that he has a full forehead and an abnormally long head from front to back. The back of his head is abnormally narrow and vertically short. He was diagnosed with sagittal suture craniosynostosis. A limited-access extended strip craniectomy was performed at age 3 months. His one-year postoperative photos at right demonstrate a significant improvement in restoring a normal length to the skull. The back of the head has a normal height, width and rounded shape.
