Sagittal Extended Strip: Ayden

Sagittal Craniosynostosis Top-250Ayden presented to the craniofacial team at age 5 months for evaluation for sagittal suture craniosynostosis. His photos from that visit on the left demonstrate a full forehead with a pinched look to the temple areas. There was a ridge along the sagittal suture. His head was abnormally long from front to back and very narrow in the back. He was diagnoses with sagittal suture craniosynostosis and treated with an extended strip craniectomy with postoperative helmet therapy at age 6 months. His photos at the completion of helmet therapy on the right demonstrate complete correction of the normal rounded contour, height and width to the back of the head. The fullness of the forehead has resolved, and the length of the skull from front to back is normal.
