Testimonials
From Mario E. Romero, Jr.
Attending the parade has been a family tradition for many years. Initially, it started with my Mom as a way to get into the Christmas spirit and to show our support for its main purpose, Children's Medical Center. I was born in 1980 and received numerous surgeries to correct my congenital heart defect. Fortunately, I was able to receive a heart transplant in 1992 at Children's Medical Center. A huge portion of my childhood was spent at Children's, and I can vividly remember the great care and treatment that was always provided.
Today, when my family gather for the parade, I am reminded of my opportunity to have a second chance at life; one that many not have been possible without the major role everyone at Children's played. It is wonderful that the community can produce such a major event that continues to grow in size over the years. Firsthand, I know that it brings joy to all involved, especially the children and families of the hospital.
