Child Life
Sometimes it's hard to be a kid. This is especially true when you don't feel well. Child life specialists at Children's focus on your child's emotional and social growth while in the hospital. Child life specialists can help siblings too. They provide age-appropriate information to help your child and his or her siblings cope with the hospital setting.
Language Access Services
Language translation services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Translation is available in Spanish, American sign language and many other spoken and sign languages.
Social Work
Clinical social workers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Social workers help families find the resources they need. This let's you focus on your child and his or her care.
School Services
In-hospital school provides teachers to help your child continue schoolwork while her or she is at Children's. School consultation helps children transition back to school after being in the hospital. Volunteer tutors can help your child with homework or reading while he or she is in the hospital.
Pastoral Care
Chaplains are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide spiritual support, comfort and guidance for your child and family during your stay.
Family Resource Library
Our Family Resource Libraries have librarians who can help you find information on your child's illness and treatment. Other services offered include computers with wireless access, books and magazines and story times.
Guest Relations
Guest relations representatives help your child, family and visitors when questions arise. They work as a link between healthcare providers, patients and patient families. The guest relations staff can help settle concerns, send suggestions to the right people and pass along compliments.
