Not-For-Profit Status

Children’s Medical Center is a private, not-for-profit system, so it receives no state or county tax dollars. Two out of three patients need some type of financial assistance. We provide nearly $50 million in charity health care — whether it is covering the full medical bill or supplementing what insurance doesn’t cover. Our Development office is responsible for fund-raising to keep us going and growing.
