Affiliation with UT Southwestern Medical Center
Through an affiliation with UT Southwestern Medical Center, the Children's medical staff conducts research that helps develop treatments, therapies, and greater understanding of pediatric diseases. New treatments discovered on researchers’ benches at UT Southwestern are applied directly to patient care at Children’s, offering patients and their families more options for recovery and direct benefit from leading-edge medical science. Our doctors lecture and teach their groundbreaking procedures around the world.And as the primary pediatric teaching facility for UT Southwestern, more than 200 pediatric residents and fellows are trained here annually. This relationship allows the organizations to recruit the nation’s best pediatric specialists. Many of the hospital’s more than 800 medical staff members completed the UT Southwestern program and now hold faculty positions at the medical school. Educational experiences also are available for nurses, child development specialists, social workers, chaplains, pharmacists and others who participate in Children’s internships.
