About Children's
Children's Medical Center is a private, not-for-profit pediatric health care system devoted solely to caring for the complex medical needs of children. It’s the fifth-largest pediatric health care provider in the country with 595 licensed beds, two full-service hospitals and 14 MyChildren’s outpatient sites located throughout the Dallas area, which provide a medical home close to where patients live.
Children’s was the state’s first pediatric hospital in Dallas designated as a Level 1 Trauma Center and is the only pediatric teaching facility in North Texas affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center. We’re ranked among the nation’s top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, a nd our more than 50 specialty programs have received national and international recognition. Children's is accredited by the Joint Commission, and is a Magnet designated facility, the highest national recognition granted to a hospital or medical center for nursing excellence.
