Cardiac ECHO

Cardiac echocardiography (ECHO) is vital for assessing heart disease or defects in children. It’s one of the most widely used non-invasive diagnostic tests for heart disease. Because it uses ultrasound waves to create an image of the heart muscle, it can be used even before your child is born.

Why Children’s

  • ECHO involves a detailed ultrasound evaluation of the heart, followed by a consultation with one of our specialists.

  • Our non-invasive procedure will determine a heart’s size and pumping strength, as well as diagnose valvular problems, fluid around the heart, blood clots, and abnormal defects.

  • Our echocardiography laboratory is one of only 48 in the country to be accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiographic Laboratories.
