We perform a wide variety of tests to develop recommendations for your child’s educational program and home environment.
Our pediatric audiologists are especially skilled in evaluation of newborns.
We use state-of-the art procedures to evaluate infants at risk for hearing loss.
Cardiac echocardiography (ECHO) is vital for assessing heart disease or defects in children. It’s one of the most widely used non-invasive diagnostic tests for heart disease. Because it uses ultrasound waves to create an image of the heart muscle, it can be used even before your child is born.
ECHO involves a detailed ultrasound evaluation of the heart, followed by a consultation with one of our specialists.
Our non-invasive procedure will determine a heart’s size and pumping strength, as well as diagnose valvular problems, fluid around the heart, blood clots, and abnormal defects.
Our echocardiography laboratory is one of only 48 in the country to be accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiographic Laboratories.
At Children’s Southlake, we can evaluate the heart’s health with an electrocardiogram (EKG). An EKG is a non-invasive procedure that records the electrical activity of the heart, letting us know exactly what kind of cardiac help your child needs.
EKG’s evaluate many forms of heart disease.
They provide information about heart rate, heart rhythm and anything unusual about the heart’s structure
