Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Identify ethical issues in the routine conduct of clinical and translational research. This will be accomplished by providing a workable definition to ethics and ethical dilemmas inherent in their daily clinical and research practices.
- Recognize the established guidelines and regulations that guide the conduct of research. This will be accomplished by illuminating the areas for which more education is needed (i.e. knowledge and understanding of International Conference of Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines, FDA guidelines, and DHHS guidelines) to increase physician-researcher adherence and compliance.
- To differentiate the limitations between Federal and state guidances with regards to Ethical decisions and Research best practices.
